Counsellor and Ministry Positions for a couple
Do you have a desire to use your skills and passion in a specifically Christian setting?
Cross Roads Christian Community Trust has been ministering to people in need since 1993, and has operated a residential addictions/compulsions programme (FreedomLife - Te Nikau), and counselling centre since 1999 in Paraparaumu, on the Kapiti Coast. The addictions programme deals with a variety of addictions and compulsive behaviours (including alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, pornography, co-dependency, etc.). The counselling centre deals with general, as well as addiction issues. There are a variety of other activities based at Te Nikau.Do you have a desire to use your counselling skills and Christian faith together in your work?
The Role:
The role involves counselling, group facilitation, and involvement with other spiritual and practical activities that are part of the residential programme. At times there are opportunities also for general 1-1 counselling for people living in the wider community.
Essentials:
You will be competent to counsel a wide range of life issues, and able to facilitate small groups using video or workbooks and discussion.
You will be comfortable in working from a Christian perspective as appropriate in counselling, and in other ministry aspects of the programme.
You will have professional qualifications in counselling or related areas, and are, or able to become, a member of a professional association, (NZAC, NZCCA, DAPAANZ, or similar).
Your qualifications and experience can be in general counselling, or addictions counselling.
You will have a full driver’s licence.
You will have a legal right to work in New Zealand.

Preferred:
A couple/family (with the spouse able to be involved in aspects of the ministry).
Two positions available, one as counsellor, the other as counsellor a and leadership.
Accommodation:
This is a live-on situation with accommodation (4 bedrooms) suitable for families or couples.
